The new firmware version v 6 of the TA120 Noise sensor adds the measurement
of an extra function simultaneously to the measurement of the equivalent
continuous sound level with frequency weighting A LAeq.
This extra function can be chosen from the following ones:
• LCeq: Equivalent continuous sound level with frequency weighting C. This function is used
together with LAeq to evaluate the presence of low frequency content. The presence of
strong low frequency content appears very often in noise from transport infrastructures,
construction sites and especially from leisure activities with amplified music.
• LAFmax: Maximum fast time-weighted sound level. Some Environmental Laws and
Ordinances establish maximum noise immission limits referred to this function applicable
to railway and airport infrastructures. Also its use is recommended for the evaluation of
shooting installations, sonic bird scarers, garage doors, elevators, metal roller shutters or
heliports.
• LASmax: Maximum slow time-weighted sound level. This function is recommended in
standards for the detection of noise events from planes such as ISO 20906 and for the
generation of contour maps of aircraft noise events N70.
In addition to measuring and sending this information to NoisePlatform every minute, the
TA120 noise sensor also measures LAeq or extra function values every second.
NoisePlatform with the LP060 license saves and displays these second by second values for
the latest 2 months.
This allows the detection, counting, suppression or evaluation of the sound exposure level of
short-term events such as the passing of airplanes, helicopters, trains or cars, firearm shots or
even ball hits on paddle and tennis courts.
All CESVA sensors connected to the internet will be updated automatically. Those that are not
connected must be updated through the CESVA Sensor Manager software application.
